About

As a designer by day, I love colors, I love colors on my plate, I can get drunk from colors; Most of my life I have been interested in nutrition. Food pictures inspire me.

My interest in nutrition started when my mother became a rare case of late in life Type 1 diabetic. When I came to the US, Europeans suddenly had the discovery of ‘Mad Cow Disease’, learnt about meat production practices and food politics.
I am influenced by popular books on nutrition, science, diet, and food philosophy which I have been reading for the past 15+ years. I truly believe that a lifestyle geared towards a plant based nutrition is a healthy and responsible choice for the individual and the planet. I also believe this to be possible without sacrificing variety, fun or a social life.

Nutrition advice can be very technical or tries to be so perfect; people are scared of making a mistake and abandon the whole effort. Is that a surprise, that most resort to eating odd foods? I want to do better than chewing boring celery sticks.

Spoonsense started as an experiment to eat healthier, and greener and more flavorful. I try to cook clean from scratch and my style is European international. I love to have fun with food, pic up trends, but try not to veganize junk food.
My collection of recipes, info and reports should be a motivation to cook and experiment more.

I’m extremely impressed with your writing skills as well as with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself? Anyway keep up the nice quality writing, it is rare to see a great blog like this one these days..

    • Thank you for your kind comment. The WordPress theme is a theme that I customized myself. I tweaked the CSS, and added the rest in the Widgets section. I will change the header and pictures. I am still working on all corners, so the posting is slow. I eventually will move the blog to its own URL…
