Chia seeds with lime energy drink

For 1+ cups:

1 tsp Chia Seeds
1 lime, juiced
1 tsp maple syrup (or RAW Agave syrup to make it raw)
filtered water

Dissolve 1 tsp chia seeds in 1/3 cup of filtered water, let sit for 10-15 minutes. The chia seeds will get a jelly skin surrounding and the blend will turn into a gel.

Add some gel to the juice of one lime, add water and maple syrup and drink cold.

  1. It tastes like a fresh limey lemonade. I used it during summer days. I thought it indeed gives you a limey kick and a sugary jolt. Not such a quick nervous push as coffee or strong green tea can give you. I thought I stayed longer at my desk without checking the fridge too often…
The first time I made too much of the gel and the longer it sits, the better the jelly forms and the denser the gel seems to get. I did not need much per drink and if it sits too long, it may go bad.
I now just set up a small amount of seeds with some water a couple of minutes before and then add the rest of the ingredients…

  2. Hey Sabine

Does the chia drink taste good? Did it give you more energy?
